Biography

Prior to working as an Art Psychotherapist, I had a career within education working with primary children as well as secondary aged children within an SEN nurture provision. I also worked for a number of years with new mothers and their families within the Barnsley community as an infant feeding facilitator for Barnsley Council.

Since qualifying as an Art Psychotherapist I have worked with children, teenagers and their families in mainstream and SEN educational settings across Yorkshire.

My approach with clients is child centred which enables the children and young people I work with to explore the art materials at their own pace allowing them to engage in self-expression through purposeful art making.

Working in educational settings also allows me to work closely with teaching and support staff enabling them to support therapeutically the young people in their care.
