Biography
Hello I’m Hope, I am a passionate Psychotherapist and Trauma Practitioner. My desire is to help guide and support through the multitude of life difficulties and trauma’s to a place of Hope, Personal Growth, Empowerment and over all Well-being.
My practice is informed by a range of therapeutic models from my core training in Person-Centred/ Humanistic Psychotherapy, Somatic Psychotherapy,Psychodynamic Therapy, EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Trauma- Focused Therapy.
Over the past ten years I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience within different Psychotherapy roles predominately working with complexed trauma. I have extensive experience of working therapeutically with children, adolescents and adults with a range of different emotional, social and behavioural difficulties with mild to severe, complex and enduring mental health needs including delivering a variety of assessments and evidence-based interventions.
I feel Psychotherapy should be a safe, trusting and confidential space to explore and create positive change. For me it is about providing an environment of genuine empathic understanding and curiosity combined with warmth and acceptance so as to create a space to explore and heal.
Within the therapeutic relationship I aim to create an encouragement for self-awareness and increased sense of ‘self’ so that there is an ability to recognise and address unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Using a variety of techniques that appropriately help process and increase ability to manage ongoing challenges.
Psycho-education is also a crucial part of my work which enables the individual and families to develop a greater awareness and understanding of their brain and bodies and equip them to address challenges in order to make positive and fulfilling changes in all aspects of life.
I learn so much from my clients and feel honoured to be part of their healing journey.
In my spare time I love to spend time with family and friends exploring the outdoors with my dog or catching up over good food. I enjoy travelling and weekend trips away exploring and making fun memories. I am always up for a thrill and adventure, love a bit of wild swimming and the beach is my happy place.
